Delight in classic children’s tales while learning to write with structure and style! Characters and adventures will capture students' imaginations and provide rich writing content throughout this course. Students will learn how to take notes, summarize references, summarize narrative stories, write from pictures, put together a mini-research report, and compose creative essays. This is a perfect first year of IEW for your 3rd-5th grade student. Homework will be assigned weekly and will consist of completing the writing assignment started in class. Wednesdays, 11:00-11:55 am

Let your students imagination soar while exploring the people and places in our community while learning to write with structure and style. Gently reading students will examine several of the people and places they visit in their own community and gain a greater understanding and appreciation for the people and places we visit and see each day. Your students will work through IEW Units 1-7 as they learn to take notes, retell narrative stories, summarize references, and write from pictures.  Homework will be assigned weekly and will consist of completing the writing assignment started in class. Homework will require about 1.5 hours or less of hands-on study each week. Register @

Spring Valley $375 per semester

Thursday & Friday 9:30 am - 12:25 pm

Enroll your student in this 15-week class that includes reading, spelling, vocabulary, writing, and fun language arts games.  Your student will love reading a variety of books, writing with Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW) and sharpening their reading and comprehension skills in this 3-hour class.  Just think, you can drop your elementary student off with a lunch and a snack and run errands or enjoy me time for 3 hours while your student makes friends, advances in language arts, and develops a love for writing. Part of the Language Arts Pod

Thursday/Friday 9:30-12:30 pm

Adventures in Writing will be a part of the Thursday, Friday language arts pod.  Students will explore a wide variety of fascinating subjects in this theme-based writing curriculum. They will write about topics such as Roman hoplites, tornadoes, Leif Erriksson and other interesting subjcts while they learn to write with structure and style.

Fix the holes in your students knowledge of grammar with this class.  Fix It Grammar class introduces basic parts of speech, end-mark punctuation, phrases, clauses, homophones, and more.  Your student will learn grammar through workbook study and fun classroom games where they even have the opportunity to earn points towards small rewards.  Register @
